Michael is a Visiting Research Assistant at the United Nations University Institute in Macau working on the Migrant Tech project Apprise. He is a recent graduate of Moravian College where he studied biochemistry and public health. His research interests include the social determinants of health, human rights, and the intersection between access to justice and population health outcomes. Michael previously worked as a research fellow at a non-profit organization that focuses on eliminating disparities in access to legal representation for underserved populations. In 2018 he led a group of students from Moravian College to be selected for a youth leadership development program, co-sponsored by United Nations Academic Impact, where he directed community-based initiatives to address food insecurity and promote awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Biochemistry from Moravian College and participated in an international exchange program at Shenzhen University. He will begin his medical education and pursue a dual degree MD/MPH at the University of North Carolina starting in August 2020.
