Visiting Research Fellow (June 2017 – August 2017)

Dr. Lauri Goldkind is an associate professor at Fordham’s Graduate School of Social Service, where she chairs the Leadership and Macro practice concentration and also teaches in the Nonprofit Administration program. Dr. Goldkind was a Visiting Fellow at UNU Institute in Macau during summer 2017, where she worked on the Data and Sustainable Development project under the Small Data Lab. While in Macau, her work focused on exploring two research questions: first, how community-based organizations (CBOs) can serve as a conduit for data reporting so that the voices of underrepresented and vulnerable groups can be better represented at the national and international levels; and second, how community-based organizations make use of information and communication technology (ICT) to improve services to their constituents. Her research was conducted in partnership with Caritas Macau, a local CBO that allowed her to explore and compare the similarities and differences between Macau and the United States in terms of service delivery and administration.

She holds an M.S.W. from SUNY Stony Brook with a concentration in planning, administration, and research and a Ph.D. from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University.
